About Me
I grew up in Santa Barbara California. I have worked a few jobs before I found my love for teaching. As a child I worked with my dad in a restaurant before school and on the weekends. Helping him flip bacon or busing tables was fun and rewarding. I did receive an occasional tip for busing tables and in the mornings before school my dad paid me twenty five cents a flat of bacon. In high school I worked at the local farmers market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I also started working summers with my uncle in the tree business. Climbing trees with a chainsaw was challenging, but as my uncle often reminded me, we did have a picnic every day as we ate lunch in someones yard. I also returned to where I started and spent many years working in the restaurant business. I started as a waiter and worked my way into management at a young age. It was here that I met my wife. After we got married, we traveled the world for 6 months. We returned to the States well traveled and broke. We made the move to North County San Diego to start our family and careers.
I attended the California State University of San Marcos where I received my multiple subject teaching credential. Since then I have attended many professional development opportunities and am GATE certified.
I have been teaching for 7 years at San Elijo Elementary School. This is my third year teaching 5th grade. I feel very lucky and fortunate to be teaching in such a great community.
